There’s something truly exciting about stepping aboard a brand-new ship, and Norwegian Aqua delivered that feeling from the moment we embarked in Miami. As the newest addition to Norwegian Cruise Line’s fleet, everything felt fresh, modern, and thoughtfully designed.

We had the pleasure of hosting a group on this 7-night Caribbean sailing, visiting Puerto Plata, St. Thomas, Tortola, and Great Stirrup Cay before returning to Miami. From the very beginning, it was clear that Norwegian Aqua was designed to offer something special.

What stood out most wasn’t just that everything was new, but how the ship was designed. The public spaces felt more intimate than many larger ships, creating an atmosphere that was both elegant and welcoming while still offering plenty of exciting experiences, entertainment, and places to relax.

One of the biggest highlights was experiencing the Aqua Slidecoaster. This one-of-a-kind attraction combines the thrill of a waterslide with the excitement of a roller coaster and is an absolute must for anyone looking for a little adventure at sea.

Another favourite was Indulge Food Hall. The iPad ordering system made the dining experience seamless, and with such a wide variety of cuisines available, there was always something new to discover.

When it came to dining, Hasuki (Teppanyaki) quickly became a group favourite thanks to its fun, interactive atmosphere. However, the standout meal of the cruise was the Filet Mignon at Palomar. It was one of those memorable meals that we’ll still be talking about long after returning home.

For cocktail lovers, make sure to stop by the Whiskey Bar on Deck 6 and enjoy an Old Fashioned. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a classic drink in a stylish setting.

Entertainment was another area where Norwegian Aqua truly impressed. Revolution was spectacular and easily became our favourite production show of the cruise.

Kerry & Dan’s Insider Tips: Don’t just focus on the main attractions—take time to explore the entire ship in the evening. Each lounge has its own unique atmosphere, offering everything from live music and lively social spaces to cozy corners perfect for relaxing after a day of adventure. Some of the best moments onboard come from simply wandering around and discovering your own favourite spot.

Our balcony stateroom was another pleasant surprise. The thoughtful layout made the cabin feel more spacious than expected, with plenty of storage and all the amenities needed for a comfortable week at sea.

Kerry & Dan’s Insider Tips: Before choosing your stateroom, be sure to compare the pricing between inside and balcony cabins. The difference may be smaller than you expect, and having your own private outdoor space to enjoy the ocean views, fresh air, and quiet moments can truly elevate your cruise experience.

Perhaps what impressed us most wasn’t a single attraction or restaurant, but the overall atmosphere onboard. The energy throughout the ship was fantastic. The crew was genuinely friendly and attentive, and everywhere we went, guests seemed to be enjoying every moment. That positive atmosphere made the entire week even more memorable.

One of our favourite moments was simply standing on deck as the ship sailed away from port. It’s an experience that never gets old, and aboard a beautiful new ship like Norwegian Aqua, it was the perfect reminder of why cruising continues to be one of our favourite ways to travel.

Norwegian Aqua truly offers something for everyone. Families will love the activities and entertainment, couples will appreciate the incredible dining options and relaxing spaces, first-time cruisers will find the ship easy to navigate, experienced cruisers will enjoy discovering the newest innovations, and solo travellers will appreciate the dedicated solo accommodations, including balcony options.
